About

Kari has been practicing for over 19 years in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine practices.  She opened Accelerated Physical Therapy in February of 2007. Kari received a Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia and a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.  Kari is a Maitland Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) and is a proud member of the American Physical Therapy Association.  She is also certified by the Titleist Performance Institute as a Level 2 Medical Professional.

Kari has treated a wide variety of orthopedic injuries, worked with patients of all ages and has even worked with professional athletes.  She is one of a few therapists in the area with the knowledge and training to work with a variety of cartilage repair techniques including ACI (Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation or Carticel), microfracture, DeNovo NT and OATS (Osteochondral Allograft Transfer System).

Aafke Zaffke

DPT

 

Aafke has been a practicing Physical Therapist since 2014, after earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from The University of Texas at El Paso.  Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Aafke worked for two years as an Athletic Trainer after completing her Bachelor of Science degree from Lynchburg College (currently the University of Lynchburg).

While moving with the military, Aafke has worked with a wide variety of patients including those with orthopedic, geriatric, and neurological conditions. With her experience, she has picked up different skills and treatment techniques utilized around the country. She is certified in Dry Needling through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy.

When she is not working, Aafke enjoys training for runs of various distances (5k to marathons), though currently she is spending her time running after her three young boys.

 

 

Savannah E. A. Bailey

DPT

 

Savannah holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from the University of Miami.  She has experience working with patients with various orthopedic, neurological, and vestibular conditions. Savannah has previously worked in outpatient and inpatient settings. Her patients range from athletes to individuals who simply need to get back on their feet. Savannah’s individualized approach to treatment, high level of professionalism, and integrated techniques benefits each patient.

 

In her spare time, Savannah enjoys swimming, crocheting, and spending time with her family and cat, Marigold.

Wyce Asmati

DPT

 

Wyce graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s in Human Nutrition, Foods, & Exercise and earned his Doctor in Physical Therapy from the University of Lynchburg. Prior to returning home to Northern Virginia and ABPT, Wyce worked as a traveling physical therapist in North Carolina with experience in skilled nursing facilities and outpatient care settings. He has a strong interest in musculoskeletal dysfunction that stems from his own history of injuries and surgeries.

In his free time, Wyce enjoys cheering on the Baltimore Ravens, going to the movies and watching stand-up comedy. He lives by the motto, "practice what you preach" for his patients and his own well-being. In the past he played lacrosse and football, but he’s a fan of all sports.
